LCO No. 3397 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 928 January Session, 2021 LCO No. 3397 Referred to Committee on ENVIRONMENT Introduced by: (ENV) AN ACT CONCERNING RE CYCLED CONTENT FOR P RODUCTS SOLD IN CONNECTICUT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Not later than December 1, 1 2022, the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection, in 2 consultation with retailers, manufacturers, recycling businesses in the 3 state and regional organizations such as the Northeast Recycling 4 Council, shall submit to the Governor and the joint standing committee 5 of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to the 6 environment recommendations for recycled content requirements for 7 products sold in the state and for multi-state coordination in the 8 development of such recycled content standards. In developing such 9 recommendations, the commissioner shall consider recycled content 10 standards from other states and jurisdictions. 11 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Raised Bill No. 928 LCO No. 3397 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To encourage the development of a market for recycled materials.
