Explanation
The bill requires the Department of Energy and Environmental
Protection (DEEP) to assess the energy, environmental, and air quality
impacts of adopting California's medium and heavy-duty vehicle
standards before December 31, 2021. It also allows DEEP to adopt
regulations necessary to meet federal air quality standards or
greenhouse gas reduction requirements consistent with California.
This has no fiscal impact as DEEP currently has the expertise for this
purpose.
