AN ACT REQUIRING THE PROVISION OF INFORMATION 
CONCERNING MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH RESOURCES 
BY SCHOOL DISTRICTS.  
 
SUMMARY 
This bill requires each local and regional school board, by 
September 1, 2021, to compile and annually update a list of every 
mental and emotional health resource available to students and 
families in the board’s district.  
Under the bill, the list must include resources provided by the 
board, community providers, school-based health centers, or the state. 
Each resource must be listed with a telephone number, an email 
address, or an Internet link.  
The bill requires each board to (1) post the list of resources on its 
website and (2) distribute the list to parents of students in the school 
district at least semiannually, in September and May of each school 
year. 
It also requires each local and regional school board, beginning in 
the 2021-22 school year, to distribute an age- and developmentally-
appropriate list of available mental and emotional health resources to 
students taking a health and safety course. The list must include 
national youth suicide prevention helplines accessible by text message.
