OFA Fiscal Note
No Fiscal Impact
The amendment replaces the underlying bill and its associated fiscal
impact.
Instead, it requires the Department of Energy and Environmental
Protection (DEEP) and the Department of Public Health (DPH) to study
existing categories of discharge for alternative on-site and community
sewage treatment systems, and the administrative jurisdiction for these
permits. Additionally, the amendment requires DEEP and DPH to
submit a report to the Planning and Development, Environment, and
Public Health Committees, by January 1, 2022, on the findings of the
study and any legislative recommendations. This is not anticipated to
result in a fiscal impact as DEEP and DPH have the expertise for this
purpose.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely
for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General
Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose. In general, fiscal impacts are based upon a variety of
informational sources, including the analyst’s professional knowledge. Whenever applicable, agency data is
consulted as part of the analysis, however final products do not necessarily reflect an assessment from any
specific department.
