Explanation 
The bill results in a cost to the General Fund (GF), Probate Court 
Administration Fund (PCAF), and the Workers' Comp Fund (WCF) for 
a 4.5% salary increase in FY 22 and a 2.5% salary increase in FY 23 to 
all judges (201 positions), family support magistrates (9 positions), a 
per diem increase to referees, probate judges, and workers' 
compensation commissioners. The actual cost will be dependent on 
the number of filled positions. 
The FY 22 cost to the Judicial Department General Fund is up to 
$1,930,416 FY 22 and $3,037,333 in FY 23 for judges' salary increases. 
The bill results in a cost of $313,4530 in FY 22 and $469,818 in FY 23 
to the Probate Court Administration Fund for an increase to the 
Probate Court Administrator (same as a Superior Court judge) and for 
salary increases for probate court judges.  Salaries for probate court

from 45% to 75% of a Superior Court judge's salary. 
The bill results in a cost of up to $133,000 in FY 22 and up to 
$210,000 in FY 23 to the Workers' Compensation Fund for 16 
commissioners. The salaries of the workers' compensation 
commissioners vary depending on experience and are tied to the salary 
of a Superior Court judge.
