AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY MEDICAL
PRACTICE OWNERSHIP MODELS.

Explanation
The bill establishes a sixteen-member task force to study the
corporate practice of medicine doctrine, health carrier ownership of
medical practices located in this state, and medical practice ownership
models that ensure the integrity of medical judgments, optimize
patient outcomes and minimize corporate influence and interests.
Not later than January 1, 2022, the task force shall submit a report
on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committees
of human services, insurance, and public health. The task force shall
terminate on the date that it submits such report or January 1, 2022,
whichever is later.
This bill has no fiscal impact for members of task forces as PA 17-
236 prohibits transportation allowances.
