AN ACT CONCERNING US E OF SPACE LOCATED IN A 
FLOODPLAIN. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. (Effective from passage) Notwithstanding the provisions of 1 
section 8-2l of the general statutes, any zoning regulation or any other 2 
ordinance regulating a proposed building, structure, development or 3 
use located in a floodplain, as defined in said section, the space in certain 4 
buildings constructed on parcels located at 601 Norwich Avenue, 603 5 
Norwich Avenue and 609 Norwich Avenue in the village of Taftville, in 6 
the city of Norwich, which parcels are situated above the one-hundred-7 
year flood elevation plus one foot of freeboard, shall be permitted for 8 
residential and commercial use. 9 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:

Statement of Purpose:   
To allow certain space that is located in a floodplain, in the city of 
Norwich, to be used for residential and commercial purposes.
