Explanation
The bill conveys a specified parcel of land totaling approximately 3
acres from the Department of Correction to the town of Somers. The
state would lose use of the asset (most recently valued at $12,600). The
state would retain an easement for purposes of a fire department
staging area. The town of Somers would gain use of an asset and
would pay the administrative costs of the conveyance, along with the
cost of any survey of the land that is needed.
The land conveyance is subject to the review and approval of the
State Properties Review Board. The asset would revert to state control
if the recipient does not use the land for specified purposes.
