LCO No. 1621 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 215 February Session, 2022 LCO No. 1621 Referred to Committee on TRANSPORTATION Introduced by: (TRA) AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING RECRUITMENT PROGRAM. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) The Commissioners of 1 Administrative Services and Transportation, in consultation with public 2 institutions of higher education, shall establish a transportation 3 engineering recruitment program to encourage and promote 4 engineering programs at institutions of higher education and career 5 opportunities for transportation engineers in the state. On or before 6 January 1, 2023, the commissioners shall submit a report, in accordance 7 with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint 8 standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of 9 matters relating to transportation detailing the status of such program 10 and any recommendations for legislation and funding necessary to 11 implement such program. 12 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section LCO No. 1621 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To require the Commissioners of Administrative Services and Transportation to develop a transportation engineering recruitment program.
