LCO No. 2519 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 346 February Session, 2022 LCO No. 2519 Referred to Committee on VETERANS' AFFAIRS Introduced by: (VA) AN ACT CONCERNING A SURVEY OF SERVICE MEMBERS' WELL - BEING. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Adjutant General shall, 1 through the Military Department's family program, conduct a survey of 2 members of the Connecticut National Guard to identify (1) support 3 services most used by such members, (2) support services deemed by 4 such members as most beneficial to such members, including, but not 5 limited to, mental health, behavioral health and wellness programs, 6 employment assistance, financial and retirement counseling and 7 community involvement opportunities, and (3) areas for improvement 8 in coordinating such members' access to such support services. 9 (b) Not later than January 1, 2023, the Adjutant General shall submit 10 to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 11 cognizance of matters relating to military affairs, in accordance with the 12 provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, (1) a report on the 13 findings of such survey, and (2) recommendations for legislation to 14 address areas for improvement in coordinating Connecticut National 15 LCO No. 2519 2 of 2 Guard members' access to support services. 16 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To conduct a survey of Connecticut National Guard members regarding available support services.
