LCO No. 3212 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 432 February Session, 2022 LCO No. 3212 Referred to Committee on GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION AND ELECTIONS Introduced by: (GAE) AN ACT CONCERNING A TECHNICAL REVISION RELATED TO CAMPAIGN FINANCE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Subsection (c) of section 9-606 of the general statutes is 1 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 2 1, 2022): 3 (c) The treasurer of each committee, other than a political committee 4 established by an organization which receives its funds from the 5 organization's treasury, may appoint solicitors. If solicitors are 6 appointed, the treasurer shall receive and report all contributions made 7 or promised to each solicitor. Each solicitor shall submit to the treasurer 8 a list of all contributions made or promised to him. The list shall be 9 complete as of seventy-two hours immediately preceding midnight of 10 the day preceding the dates on which the treasurer is required to file a 11 sworn statement as provided in section 9-608. Lists shall be received by 12 the treasurer not later than twenty-four hours immediately preceding 13 each required filing date. Each solicitor shall deposit all contributions 14 LCO No. 3212 2 of 2 with the treasurer, [within] not later than seven days after receipt. No 15 solicitor shall expend any contributions received by him or disburse 16 such contributions to any person other than the treasurer. 17 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 October 1, 2022 9-606(c) Statement of Purpose: To make a technical revision related to campaign finance.
