Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to establish a student loan 1 forgiveness program or public-private partnership with the goal of 2 encouraging graduates from institutions of higher education to pursue 3 careers in teaching or health care in the state. 4 Statement of Purpose: To establish a student loan forgiveness program or public-private partnership to encourage college graduates to pursue careers in teaching or health care in the state for the purpose of addressing labor shortages in such fields.
