OFA Fiscal Note
Potential Revenue Gain
The amendment strikes the underlying bill and its associated fiscal
impact.
The amendment requires the Department of Energy and
Environmental Protection (DEEP), by December 15, 2023, to produce a
Connecticut Decarbonization Roadmap, which has no fiscal impact
because the agency has the necessary expertise. It also requires DEEP to
identify additional federal funds available to municipalities and school
districts for reducing carbon emissions. This could result in a revenue
gain to various municipalities and local and regional school districts
beginning in FY 24 to the extent federal funds are made available
following such identification.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely
for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General
Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose. In general, fiscal impacts are based upon a variety of
informational sources, including the analyst’s professional knowledge. Whenever applicable, agency data is
consulted as part of the analysis, however final products do not necessarily reflect an assessment from any
specific department.
