OFA Fiscal Note
No Fiscal Impact
The amendment makes several changes to the underlying bill which
result in no fiscal impact.
It requires that the Department of Agriculture (DoAg) perform
surveillance testing for tuberculosis and brucellosis on each registered
milk producing herd. This has no fiscal impact since it is expected that
this is current practice.
The amendment also requires that dairy or breeding animals be
examined by a licensed veterinarian who would issue an interstate
health certificate. This has no fiscal impact as the amendment states the
testing would be done at the expense of the licensee.
Lastly, the amendment alters the definition of "owner-shipper
statement" which has no fiscal impact.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely
for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General
Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose. In general, fiscal impacts are based upon a variety of
informational sources, including the analyst’s professional knowledge. Whenever applicable, agency data is
consulted as part of the analysis, however final products do not necessarily reflect an assessment from any
specific department.
