AN ACT REQUIRING DISCHARGE STANDARDS REGARDING 
FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS AND PRESCRIPTION 
MEDICATIONS FOR PATIENTS BEING DISCHARGED FROM A

Explanation 
The bill as amended, which directs the Department of Public Health 
to adopt regulations requiring the inclusion of instructions for follow-
up appointments and prescription medications when a patient is 
discharged from a hospital or nursing home facility, does not result in a 
fiscal impact to the agency or municipalities. 
Senate “A” made clarifying changes to the underlying bill that do not 
result in a fiscal impact to the State or municipalities.
