LCO No. 1841 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 5005 February Session, 2024 LCO No. 1841 Referred to Committee on LABOR AND PUBLIC EMPLOYEES Introduced by: (LAB) AN ACT STUDYING PAID SICK DAYS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Labor Commissioner shall 1 conduct a study of the paid sick days statutes in the state. Not later than 2 January 1, 2025, the commissioner shall report the results of the study, 3 in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, 4 to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 5 cognizance of matters relating to labor and public employees. Such 6 report may include the commissioner's recommendations for legislation 7 regarding the paid sick days statutes in the state. 8 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To require the Labor Commissioner to study the state's paid sick day statutes.
