LCO No. 3041 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 5503 February Session, 2024 LCO No. 3041 Referred to Committee on COMMERCE Introduced by: (CE) AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF WORKFORCE SHORTAGES, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING AVAILABILITY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Economic and 1 Community Development shall conduct a study of workforce shortages, 2 workforce development and training availability. Such study shall 3 include, but need not be limited to, an analysis of the effect of such 4 shortages, development and availability on commercial activity in the 5 state. Not later than January 1, 2025, the commissioner shall submit a 6 report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general 7 statutes, on the results of such study to the joint standing committee of 8 the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to 9 commerce. 10 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Raised Bill No. 5503 LCO No. 3041 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To require the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development to study workforce shortages, workforce development and training availability.
