LCO No. 2398 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 353 February Session, 2024 LCO No. 2398 Referred to Committee on GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION AND ELECTIONS Introduced by: (GAE) AN ACT CONCERNING THE PUBLIC AVAILABILITY OF INFORMATION RELATED TO THE MAINTENANCE OF ELEVATORS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Not later than January 1, 1 2025, the Commissioner of Administrative Services shall create and 2 maintain a searchable online electronic database on the Internet web site 3 of the Department of Administrative Services for purposes of making 4 information related to the maintenance of elevators in this state, except 5 those located in private residences, publicly available. Such information 6 shall include, but need not be limited to, (1) registration information 7 filed with the department pursuant to section 29-194 of the general 8 statutes, (2) the date of each inspection by the department conducted 9 pursuant to section 29-195 of the general statutes and a copy of the 10 department inspector's report for each such inspection, (3) a copy of 11 each certificate of operation issued by the department pursuant to 12 section 29-196 of the general statutes and the date of expiration for each 13 such certificate, (4) each order for the discontinuance of operation issued 14 by the department pursuant to section 29-197 of the general statutes, and 15 Raised Bill No. 353 LCO No. 2398 2 of 2 (5) each accident or incident reported by an owner of an elevator, or such 16 owner's agent, pursuant to section 29-199 of the general statutes and the 17 information from any investigation or inspection by the department of 18 such report. 19 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To require the State Building Inspector to create and maintain an online database of information related to the maintenance of elevators in this state.
