AMENDMENT LCO No.: 4891 File Copy No.: 224 Senate Calendar No.: 170 Primary Analyst: BP 4/30/24 Contributing Analyst(s): RP (MF) OFA Fiscal Note Minimal Fiscal Impact The amendment, which allows peace officers to stop motor vehicles for the sole purpose of a cannabis violation, results in a potential cost to the Judicial Department for incarceration or probation and a potential revenue gain to the General Fund from fines. On average, the marginal cost for supervision in the community is less than $800 1 each year for adults and $1,000 each year for juveniles.
