AN ACT CONCERNING THE QUARANTINE TIME FOR DOGS AND CATS THAT ARE NOT VACCINATED FOR RABIES BUT THAT MAY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO RABIES AS INDICATED BY WOUNDS OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to establish a maximum 1 quarantine period of four months for any dog or cat that is not 2 vaccinated for rabies but that has an open wound of unknown origin 3 and that is suspected of having been exposed to rabies. 4 Statement of Purpose: To follow the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians and reduce the maximum quarantine time to four months for cats and dogs with open wounds that are suspected of having been exposed to rabies.
