ALLIE-BRENNAN, 2nd Dist. AN ACT PROHIBITING THE SALE OF CATS, DOGS AND RABBITS IN PET SHOPS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the sale of dogs, cats 1 and rabbits in pet shops after January 1, 2026, and authorize the 2 Commissioner of Agriculture to revoke the pet shop license of any pet 3 shop licensee that does so. 4 Statement of Purpose: To prohibit the sale of animals in pet shops that originate from puppy mills and other inhumane commercial breeding facilities.
