AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PILOT 
PROGRAM FOR AT -RISK YOUTH. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of 1 
Education to establish a pilot program for at-risk youth in grades seven 2 
to nine, inclusive, to engage in hands-on, project-based learning 3 
programs in the core academic curriculum subjects of mathematics, 4 
science, English language arts and social studies that align academic 5 
content with practical applications, including vocational and 6 
community experience. 7 
Statement of Purpose:   
To establish a pilot program for at-risk youth in grades seven to nine, 
inclusive, to engage in hands-on, project-based learning programs that 
align academic content with practical applications, including vocational 
and community experience.
