AN ACT CONCERNING THE COLLECTION COSTS OF STATE TAXES
AND FEES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That each state agency be required to evaluate the costs of collecting 1
each tax and fee such agency administers and report its findings to the 2
finance, revenue and bonding committee, which shall raise a bill to 3
eliminate all taxes and fees for which the cost of collection exceeds the 4
revenue received by the state from the imposition of such tax or fee. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To require each state agency to evaluate the collection costs of taxes and
fees administered and to eliminate any tax or fee for which the cost of
collection exceeds the revenue received by the state from the imposition
of such tax or fee.
