AN ACT REQUIRING MINORITY REPRESENTATION ON CERTAIN
MUNICIPAL LEGISLATIVE BODIES AND BOARDS OF EDUCATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That subdivision (2) of subsection (a) of section 9-167a of the general 1
statutes be amended to require a municipal legislative body or board of 2
education to require minority representation to apply to at-large 3
members where such body or board is elected partially on the basis of a 4
geographical division. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To require minority representation among members elected at large on
municipal legislative bodies and boards of education.
