AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO
GRANT FINAL CERTIFICATES OF APPROVAL FOR CHARTER
SCHOOLS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-66bb of the general statutes be amended to authorize 1
the State Board of Education to grant final certificates of approval for 2
charter schools that have demonstrated merit and meet the goals of 3
closing the achievement gap. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To update and streamline the charter school approval process while
maintaining legislative budgetary oversight.
