AN ACT CONCERNING NONDISCRIMINATION AND
CONFIDENTIALITY PROTECTIONS FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
SURVIVORS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 46b-38j of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Domestic Violence Criminal Justice Response and Enhancement 2
Advisory Council to adopt domestic violence program standards that: 3
(1) Include nondiscrimination policies and cultural competency training 4
for domestic violence shelters and housing providers, and (2) expand 5
confidentiality protections to better safeguard the personal information 6
of domestic violence survivors. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure equitable access to domestic violence services by: (1)
Including nondiscrimination policies and cultural competency training
for domestic violence shelters and housing providers, and (2) expanding
confidentiality protections to better safeguard the personal information
of domestic violence survivors.
