AN ACT PROHIBITING CERTAIN CONDUCT CONCERNING REVIEWS
OF CONSUMER GOODS AND SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that no person doing 1
business in this state shall (1) write, create, purchase or sell any review 2
of a consumer good or service if such review materially misrepresents 3
(A) that such review has been generated by a consumer, or (B) the 4
reviewer's experience with such good or service, or (2) provide 5
compensation to any person in exchange for a review that expresses a 6
particular viewpoint concerning a consumer good or service. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit certain conduct concerning reviews of consumer goods and
services.
