AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A STATE INTERPRETING STANDARDS BOARD. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 17a of the general statutes be amended to establish a state 1 interpreting standards board within the Bureau of Services for Persons 2 Who are Deaf, Deafblind or Hard of Hearing and empower the board to 3 recommend (1) standards for interpreters, and (2) penalties for violation 4 of state requirements for interpreters. 5 Statement of Purpose: To better serve persons who are deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing and ensure they are receiving quality interpreting services responsive to their needs.
