AN ACT CONCERNING REVISIONS TO THE CONNECTICUT
ANTITRUST ACT TO PROTECT AGAINST CORPORATE MERGERS
THAT HARM COMPETITION AND CONSUMERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 624 of the general statutes be amended to (1) 1
incorporate, to the extent permitted by federal law, the merger 2
guidelines promulgated by the United States Department of Justice and 3
the Federal Trade Commission, and (2) authorize the Antitrust Section 4
of the Office of the Attorney General to investigate and institute 5
proceedings for alleged violations of said guidelines on behalf of the 6
state and its residents. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To adopt federal merger guidelines into the Connecticut Antitrust Act
and authorize the Antitrust Section of the Office of the Attorney General
to investigate and institute proceedings for alleged violations of the
guidelines on behalf of the state and its residents.
