AN ACT CONCERNING MEDICAID COVERAGE FOR ALLERGY PREVENTION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 Commissioner of Social Services to provide Medicaid coverage, to the 2 extent permissible under federal law, for allergen introduction dietary 3 supplements for infants to prevent peanut and egg allergy 4 development. 5 Statement of Purpose: To invest in food allergy prevention to reduce the long-term health care costs to the state, families and the health care system for treatment of and recovery from food allergies.
