AN ACT CONCERNING A STATE SUBSIDY FOR TEACHERS' HEALTH
INSURANCE COVERAGE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 167a of the general statutes be amended to require that 1
the state pay a one-third subsidy toward the total monthly premium cost 2
of retired teachers' Medicare supplement health insurance coverage. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To restore the full one-third state subsidy previously provided to the
Teachers' Retirement System's Medicare supplement and to preserve
original Medicare as an affordable plan option for all Connecticut
teachers.
