AN ACT CONCERNING IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION'S WHOLE SCHOOL, WHOLE COMMUNITY, WHOLE CHILD FRAMEWORK. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 Department of Education and local and regional boards of education to 2 (1) use the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Whole School, 3 Whole Community, Whole Child domains to map relevant or adjacent 4 policies, (2) review such map to identify areas of strength, as well as 5 areas of overlap or gap, (3) evaluate opportunities to cease 6 implementation of policies that are duplicative, outdated, ineffective or 7 unsustainable, (4) identify potential directions for action and expand 8 capacity of school wellness teams by broadening the definition of 9 "wellness" to include the whole child, (5) designate district and school 10 coordinators of the whole child wellness teams, including personnel 11 who can provide oversight over coordination and integration efforts, 12 and (6) expand upon the membership of existing wellness teams to 13 include diverse representation across such domains. 14 Proposed Bill No. 5883 LCO No. 3383 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To implement the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child framework.
