AN ACT REQUIRING SIGNATURE VERIFICATION FOR PURPOSES
OF ABSENTEE VOTING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 145 of the general statutes be amended to require 1
implementation of a process by which local election officials processing 2
absentee ballots are able to verify that the signature upon the inner 3
envelope statement of a returned absentee ballot matches the signature 4
upon the corresponding absentee ballot application. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To require signature verification on absentee ballots for purposes of
ensuring that the person who returned an absentee ballot is the same
person who requested such absentee ballot.
