AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF "SAFETY NET" HUSKY DENTAL PROVIDERS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the Commissioner of Social Services be required to (1) evaluate 1 and determine the need to define and recognize "Safety Net HUSKY 2 dental providers" in the HUSKY Health program, (2) identify and 3 establish criteria for qualifying as a Safety Net HUSKY dental provider, 4 (3) evaluate the potential impact of recognizing Safety Net HUSKY 5 dental providers on access to dental services for HUSKY Health 6 program enrollees, (4) assess the financial implications of establishing 7 and reimbursing Safety Net HUSKY dental providers, (5) solicit 8 feedback and recommendations from stakeholders regarding the 9 creation of a distinct provider category for such providers, and (6) file a 10 report with recommendations not later than January 1, 2026, with the 11 joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of 12 matters relating to human services. 13 Proposed Bill No. 6093 LCO No. 3214 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To study the effects on access to dental care and state cost of establishing a distinct category of HUSKY Health program dental providers.
