AN ACT REQUIRING THE STAY OF EXECUTION OF A PROBATE COURT ORDER AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION OF SHOCK THERAPY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 45a-186 of the general statutes be amended to provide 1 that in a proceeding held pursuant to section 17a-543 of the general 2 statutes, upon the statement of a respondent to seek review of an order 3 authorizing the administration of shock therapy, the order shall be 4 automatically stayed until the final determination of the cause. 5 Statement of Purpose: To require an automatic stay of execution of a Probate Court order authorizing the administration of shock therapy to a respondent in order to allow the respondent sufficient time to seek review of such order.
