AN ACT CONCERNING QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT AS AN ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to disqualify any person from 1 employment as an animal control officer who is convicted of animal 2 abuse or neglect, or who enters a plea of nolo contendere or into a plea 3 bargain concerning a charge of animal abuse or neglect pursuant to 4 section 53-247 of the general statutes. 5 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that animal control officers are morally capable of adhering to a strict standard of care for animals in their possession.
