AN ACT PROHIBITING ELECTRIC SUPPLIERS FROM CHARGING
FEES TO SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT ELECTRIC SUPPLIER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 16-245o of the general statutes be amended to specify 1
that no electric supplier may charge any customer a fee for canceling 2
service with the supplier or switching to a different electric supplier. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit electric suppliers from charging fees to customers for
switching to a different supplier.
