AN ACT CONCERNING A LANDLORD'S ABILITY TO ENTER A DWELLING UNIT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SHOWING SUCH UNIT TO POTENTIAL PURCHASERS OR TENANTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 47a of the general statutes be amended to (1) prohibit a 1 tenant from refusing, for six or more consecutive days, to allow a 2 landlord to enter such tenant's dwelling unit for the purpose of selling 3 or renting such dwelling unit, and (2) provide that such tenant's refusal 4 for six or more consecutive days constitutes a breach of the rental 5 agreement, entitle the landlord to possession of such dwelling unit and 6 prove a basis for a summary process eviction. 7 Statement of Purpose: To prohibit a tenant from refusing to allow a landlord to enter such tenant's dwelling unit for the purposes of showing such dwelling unit to potential purchasers or tenants.
