AN ACT EXPANDING COMPENSATION TO DEPENDENTS FOR A
DEATH RESULTING FROM AN ACCIDENT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 31-306 of the general statutes be amended to expand 1
compensation paid to dependents on account of a death resulting from 2
an accident arising out of and in the course of employment to other 3
family members, including, but not limited to, parents and siblings, who 4
would inherit such deceased persons assets if such person died intestate. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To allow surviving family members of an employee to receive
compensation for a work-related death when such employee does not
have dependents.
