AN ACT CONCERNING PAID PRENATAL LEAVE FOR PREGNANT 
EMPLOYEES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 31 of the general statutes be amended to require employers 1 
to provide twenty hours of paid leave, in addition to any other leave 2 
provided, to pregnant employees for pregnancy-related health care, 3 
including, but not limited to, prenatal checkups, ultrasounds and other 4 
pregnancy-related appointments. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To ensure mothers receive prenatal care without putting their jobs at 
risk.
