AN ACT CONCERNING PROTESTED CHANGES TO MUNICIPAL ZONING REGULATIONS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 8-3 of the general statutes be amended to specify that if 1 a protest against a proposed change to zoning regulations or boundaries 2 is filed, it shall be signed by the owners of fifty per cent or more of the 3 area of the lots included in such proposed change or the lots within five 4 hundred feet of the subject property and such proposed change shall not 5 be adopted except by a majority vote of the members of the municipal 6 zoning commission. 7 Statement of Purpose: To specify that if a protest against a proposed change to zoning regulations or boundaries is filed, it shall be signed by the owners of fifty per cent or more of the area of the lots included in such proposed change or the lots within five hundred feet of the subject property and such proposed change shall not be adopted except by a majority vote of the members of the municipal zoning commission.
