NUCCIO, 53rd Dist. REP. VEACH, 30th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING THE PREVENTION OF FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to (1) require the Department 1 of Public Health to develop an education program concerning the 2 prevention of female genital mutilation, (2) allow for a civil action for 3 female genital mutilation, and (3) prohibit female genital mutilation in 4 the state. 5 Statement of Purpose: To raise awareness of and prohibit female genital mutilation in the state.
