AN ACT CONCERNING EXPEDITED PLACEMENT OF ANIMALS IN
CASES OF ANIMAL CRUELTY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide for an expedited 1
hearing process to determine a safe and permanent placement of an 2
animal in custody resulting from a person being charged for an animal 3
cruelty crime under chapter 945 of the general statutes or a violation of 4
section 53a-73b of the general statutes concerning sexual assault of an 5
animal. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To provide for an expedited hearing process to determine a safe and
permanent placement of an animal in custody resulting from charges of
animal cruelty, including sexual assault of an animal.
