AN ACT REQUIRING AUTOMATIC POSTINGS OF CERTAIN STATE
JOBS.
SUMMARY
This bill requires the state to post job advertisements for certain
vacant positions within 10 days after the vacancy occurs. It applies to:
1. positions not appointed by the governor or the General Assembly
in the Department of Public Health, Department of Children and
Families, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services,
Department of Revenue Services, Department of Correction, or
Department of Labor and
2. teaching positions in the Technical Education and Career System.
The bill specifies that it does not impact collective bargaining
agreements in effect on July 1, 2025, for the duration of the agreements.
EFFECTIVE DATE: July 1, 2025
