General Assembly Substitute Bill No. 7131

AN ACT CONCERNING FINANCIAL AID FOR STUDENTS IN
PARAMEDIC CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2025) (a) Not later than October 1, 1
2025, and annually thereafter, the Office of Workforce Strategy shall (1) 2
identify several public or private sources of financial aid that are 3
available to students in each paramedic certificate program approved 4
by the Office of Emergency Medical Services, (2) post a list of such 5
financial aid sources on its Internet web site, and (3) distribute such list 6
to each such paramedic certificate program. 7
(b) The Office of Workforce Strategy shall develop and implement a 8
financial aid program for students enrolled in a paramedic certificate 9
program approved by the Office of Emergency Medical Services. Not 10
later than January 1, 2026, the office shall submit, in accordance with the 11
provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing 12
committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 13
relating to higher education and employment advancement a report on 14
such financial aid program, including, but not limited to, the amount of 15
aid each student may receive pursuant to such program and any 16
legislative recommendations for the implementation of such program. 17 Substitute Bill No. 7131

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
