AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF AGE AND
DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE INSTRUCTION ON SEXUAL
ORIENTATION AND GENDER IDENTITY IN CLASSROOMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-16b of the general statutes be amended to prohibit 1
classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity to 2
students in grades kindergarten to three, inclusive, by school personnel 3
or third parties, and to require that any such instruction on sexual 4
orientation and gender identity to students in grades four to twelve, 5
inclusive, is age appropriate and developmentally appropriate for such 6
students. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that students receive age and developmentally appropriate
instruction in the classroom about sexual orientation and gender
identity.
