AN ACT REQUIRING A REPORT FROM THE COMMISSIONER OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION CONCERNING BATTERY STORAGE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of 1 Energy and Environmental Protection to report to the General Assembly 2 regarding (1) the costs associated with battery storage technology, (2) 3 the impact of such costs on ratepayer bills, including a detailed 4 explanation of the battery storage technology used by each public 5 service company, and (3) such technology's impact on the environment 6 attributable to the acquisition of component materials for such 7 technology and the disposal of such technology after its useful life. 8 Statement of Purpose: To require a report by the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection on the effectiveness of battery storage technology and such technology's impact on ratepayer bills and the environment.
