REP. DAUPHINAIS, 44th Dist. REP. MASTROFRANCESCO, 80th Dist. AN ACT REQUIRING THE LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL OF CERTAIN EXECUTIVE ORDERS ISSUED WHILE THE LEGISLATURE IS IN SESSION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That sections 19a-131a and 28-9 of the general statutes be amended to 1 (1) require the General Assembly, if in session at the time of issuance or 2 within thirty days after such issuance, to vote to approve or reject any 3 executive order issued by the Governor pursuant to a public health or 4 civil preparedness emergency declaration not later than thirty days after 5 such issuance, and (2) provide for the expiration of any such executive 6 order that is not approved by the General Assembly within such time 7 period. 8 Statement of Purpose: To require legislative approval of executive orders issued pursuant to a public health or civil preparedness emergency declaration when the legislature is in session.
