AN ACT REQUIRING THE LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL OF CERTAIN 
EXECUTIVE ORDERS ISSUED WHILE THE LEGISLATURE IS IN 
SESSION. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That sections 19a-131a and 28-9 of the general statutes be amended to 1 
(1) require the General Assembly, if in session at the time of issuance or 2 
within thirty days after such issuance, to vote to approve or reject any 3 
executive order issued by the Governor pursuant to a public health or 4 
civil preparedness emergency declaration not later than thirty days after 5 
such issuance, and (2) provide for the expiration of any such executive 6 
order that is not approved by the General Assembly within such time 7 
period. 8 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require legislative approval of executive orders issued pursuant to a 
public health or civil preparedness emergency declaration when the 
legislature is in session.
