AN ACT PROVIDING IMMUNITY FROM CIVIL LIABILITY TO A 
PHYSICIAN WHO ACCOMPANIES AND ASSISTS A STATE, 
REGIONAL OR MUNICIPAL SWAT TEAM. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That chapter 925 of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1 
any person licensed to practice medicine and surgery under the 2 
provisions of chapter 370 of the general statutes, who, voluntarily and 3 
gratuitously and other than in the course of such person's employment 4 
or practice, renders emergency medical assistance in connection with 5 
the law enforcement duties of a state, regional or municipal special 6 
weapons and tactics team, shall not be liable to any person assisted for 7 
civil damages for any personal injuries that result from acts or omissions 8 
by such licensed person in rendering emergency medical assistance, 9 
which may constitute ordinary negligence. 10 
Statement of Purpose:   
To provide immunity to a physician who accompanies and assists a 
state, regional or municipal SWAT team.
