AN ACT AUTHORIZING A FEE ON HEALTH INSURERS THAT ISSUE
MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS IN THE STATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to authorize the state to impose 1
a fee on health insurers that issue Medicare Advantage plans in the state, 2
to recoup the cost of health care services that are provided to dually 3
eligible Medicaid-Medicare beneficiaries in the state and are not covered 4
by a Medicare Advantage plan. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To authorize the state to impose a fee on health insurers that issue
Medicare Advantage plans in the state to recoup certain health care
costs for services provided to Medicaid-Medicare beneficiaries in the
state.
